Dan Urazandi of Bizarro World in Davis, California experienced a successful Free Comic Book Day, but wasn't very happy about some publishers releasing new ongoing stories as their FCBD selections.

Free Comic Book Day was a successful promotion, and we did our best numbers of the year that day.  With that said, I want the publishers to know something: STOP LAUNCHING ONGOING NEW STORIES ON FCBD.

The FCBD crowd is NOT the Wednesday/subscriber crowd.  When you launch a book or an ongoing story on FCBD, you are not reaching the audience that will buy the next installment.  In fact, you are making it very difficult for them to pick up on the series.  When the Astounding Wolf-Man was released on FCBD, no regular customer of mine got a #1, so whom was I going to sell issue #2 to?  Unless I hold back copies of War of the Supermen #0 for my Superman customers, they will never see it, and will feel cheated that they will pay for the series but not get it all.  So next FCBD put out reprints or single-issue new content or graphic novel teasers or anything that might draw attention to your characters, products or company but don't cheat our regulars trying to draw in a questionable base.
