It's about time that retailers seem to have found someone with a backbone and a desire to stand up for what's right. And what's right is fair treatment for retailers by the publishers. Brian has my respect and support and I urge him to keep on with this action.
However, this is only one aspect that needs to be addressed. Another one would be limited returnability of all first issue and single-issue comics that we cannot judge sales from cycle sheets. Or how about treating retailers as adults who have an education and are for the most part responsible individuals and allow us to receive our shipments on a Tuesday for an on street date of Wednesday. I have been fighting Diamond and the publishers for over five years with no results. We answered their problems for doing this and they came up with even more problems. In reality no matter what they are not going to do this to make our lives easier.
So go Brian and if you want a suggestion start a national association of retailers and lets get some clout and make them listen to us. I for one would be willing to not only join but help establish this association as we did in the Hampton-Roads area of Virginia a few years ago.
