Viper Comics has acquired the comics rights to two animated series, Inspector Gadget and Johnny Test, and plans to release graphic novels featuring the properties in 2011.
Inspector Gadget originally ran from 1983 to 1986, spawned numerous spin-offs including a 1999 live action film starring Matthew Broderick, and still runs in re-runs. It was a DIC (now Cookie Jar) and Nelvana co-production, with animation work outsourced to Japanese and Taiwanese studios. The title character is a simple detective with bionic gadgets built into his body.
Four seasons of Johnny Test have aired on Cartoon Network, beginning in 2005. It was created by Scott Fellows, the head writer for Fairly OddParents, and produced by Warner Brothers Animation (first season) and Cookie Jar (seasons 2-4), with the actual animation done at a variety of
