Game design house Gifted Vision has entered the CCG market with the release of Dungeon Crawler, designed by Jay Legarie. This is the company’s first game release. The game offers players a number of different playing formats, from solitaire to cooperative play.
Based on the classic RPG scenario, the player sends a group of four heroes to explore a dangerous dungeon filled with traps, monsters, and treasure. Each 140-card starter box comes with two decks: a “Dungeon Deck” which contains the hazards the heroes must face, and a “Crawler Deck” which provides the heroes’ resources and abilities. 30 tokens are also included for record keeping.
Dungeon Crawler is designed with four play formats: solitaire, competitive, cooperative, and multi-player. Everything needed for solo play is included in the starter box. For other play formats, each player will need his own starter set. All starter boxes are identical.
A companion booster will also be available, starting in early October. Each booster will contain 4 common, 3 infrequent, 2 uncommon, and 1 rare card, randomly inserted. Players can use the cards from the booster packs to enhance their heroes and dungeons.
Booster packs are available in the Unbound Booster Box, which is suitable as a POP display, with 26 booster packs. While the cards in each booster pack are random, the total mix of cards in each booster box is the same. If a player purchases one starter and one booster box, he will have the complete Unbound set.
The first card set will include 160 different cards, and is titled Unbound. The Unbound Starter will have a suggested retail price of $24.95. The Unbound Booster Pack will have a retail price of $2.99.
