Atlantis was chosen from a field of over 1,200 games released in 2009. Mayfair released Atlantis in the U.S. last November (see “Mayfair Readies Atlantis”).
In all 13 games were honored by the Vienna Games Academy, which has been handing out these awards annually since 2001, with Atlantis taking home the top prize. Mayfair’s Ken Follett-based board game World Without End, which won a special “Spiel des Jahres Plus” award earlier this year (see “World Without End”), took home the 2010 “Spiele Hit Mit Freunden” award.
