In December Sentai Filmworks is presenting the North American DVD debut of the 12-episode first season of the Nyan Koi anime series.  The series is based on Sato Fujiwara’s manga series about a cat-averse teen who suddenly discovers that he can understand what cats are saying and that he has to grant 100 wishes to cats or he will turn into a cat himself and die from his own allergies.  To complicate things even further, the girl he has a crush on, adores cats.  This romantic/comedy series was produced by AIC and aired in Japan in 2009.  The two-disc set, which debuts on December 14th, contains only the Japanese soundtrack (with English subtitles) and has an MSRP of 49.98.

Also in December Sentai is releasing Kimikiss Pure Rouge Collection 2 (300 min., $49.98), which collects the second 12-episode arc of the romantic comedy anime based on the PlayStation dating simulation game, Eyeshield 21Collection 3 (325 min. $49.98), which includes 13 episodes of the only sports anime series about American football, and Gintama Collection 3 (325 min., $49.98), which includes 13 additional episodes of the often hilarious samurai science fiction comedy that is set in the Edo period (see “Sentai Releasing Gintama Anime”).  Like Nyan Koi, the Kimikiss, Eyeshield, and Gintama collections feature Japanese soundtracks with English subtitles.
