At the New York Comic Con, Ape Entertainment announced an agreement with American Greetings Properties that will allow Ape to publish Strawberry Shortcake comic books.  Created in 1977 by Muriel Fahrion, Strawberry Shortcake has migrated from greeting cards to TV specials, board and video games, and even a 2006 theatrical movie.

But Ape Entertainment’s Strawberry Shortcake comics, which will reach retail in early 2011 and feature “scratch and sniff” covers, will be the property’s first comic book incarnation.
