Live action movie rights to Bil Keane’s The Family Circus newspaper strip have been acquired by 20th Century Fox and Walden Media, according to Deadline.  Acquiring the rights took years, according to the report.  The film will be produced by John Baldecchi and Stacy Maes; Bob Hilgenberg and Rob Muir are writing a script. 

The single panel daily strip has been running continuously since 1960 (see “Interview with Jeff Keane”); IDW recently began releasing collections (see “IDW to Collect Family Circus”).
