Cryptozoic has announced “Chase the Can,” an organized play event with a cause for December.  The events will collect food for food banks or other charities.

On the weekend of December 18-19, Chase the Can Tournament Weekend events will be held at participating game stores for both novice and experienced players.  Each player must bring four cans of non-perishable food to the event to participate.  Each WoW TCG tournament will consist of three rounds of Core Constructed play, with winners collecting cans of food from losers.  At the end, the food items can be traded for exclusive Foil promo cards.

As an added element,  Champions of the Black Flame (the World of Warcraft TCG volunteers, see “Cryptozoic Launching Volunteer Program”) will randomly choose one participant at the beginning of each round to receive  a Chase the Can sticker for one of the players cans, which will then be worth double at the end of the event.

Champions will transport the food to a local food bank or charity of their choice. The Champion and retail store that donate the most canned food items will receive a prize from Cryptozoic.

On the weekend of December 11-12, leading into Chase the Can Tournament Weekend, Champions will be available to demo the World of Warcraft TCG at hobby game stores.
