Timoon Animation (Lagardere) and Chris Columbus’ 1492 Pictures are producing 52 13-minute episodes of an animated TV series based on the Little Gloomy comics by Landry Walker and Eric Jones.  The series, retitled Scary Larry, will premiere on Canal Plus in France, with distribution in other countries to come. 

The comics, the subject of two collections from SLG Publishing, also appeared in Disney Adventures.  The animated version is somewhat different from the comics, with many of the changes done by Walker and Jones in the development process.  The series features a teen werewolf who forms a rock band with his monster friends. 

This is Chris Columbus’ first animation project; his live action credits include the first two Harry Potter films, Home Alone and Home Alone 2, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians:  The Lightning Thief, among others.
