Steven Myers of World of Comics in South Daytona, Florida read the recent news of J. Michael Straczynski leaving Superman and Wonder Woman (see "JMS Off DC Monthlies") and had this to say.

I am glad to see JMS is off monthly books.  Don't get me wrong, I think he is a great writer but I just like seeing monthly books come out monthly.  There are too many popular writers (Frank Miller, Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb and Brian Michael Bendis) that take on more than one book and are always behind schedule.  A lot of these writers are also working in movies and television at the same time.  How do they have time?

I feel that a publisher should limit the number of books a writer can write per month.  I don't think it is fair to the readers that they must wait for a story to be told (longer than a month).  I have seen a rise in the number of customers waiting for the trade paperback to come out, rather than wait on the comic.  They will read the first issue then tell me to order them the trade paperback when it comes out.  Maybe that is why monthly sales are down, customers are tired of waiting!
