Peter Parker’s parents, who have rarely figured in the many Spider-Man comic book sagas and who have never made it to the silver screen, will make an appearance in the new Columbia reboot of the Spider-Man franchise directed by Marc Webb.   Julianne Nicholson (Law and Order: Criminal Intent) and Campbell Scott (Royal Pains, Damages) will play the elder Parkers, though there is no indication yet whether they will appear in flashbacks, in some sort of a prologue, or during the course of the movie.  Parker of course is an orphan who is raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Irrfan Khan (Slumdog Millionaire) and Annie Parisse (Law and Order) are also in negotiations to join the cast.  Khan and the previously announced Rhys Ifans (see “Rhys Ifans to Play Spidey Villain”) will portray two as-yet-unnamed villains, while Parisse will be the villain’s wife.
