According to Diamond Comic Distributors, Marvel remained the top comic book publisher in November, but not by much.  The “House of Ideas” posted a 34.45% dollar share of comics sold through DCD in November, while DC Comics was just a hair behind at 33.08%.  Image Comics was a distant third with 5.68% followed by Dark Horse with 5.3%, IDW Publishing with 4.16%, Dynamite Entertainment with 4.0%, BOOM! Studios with 1.94%, Viz Media with 1.12%, Oni Press with .7%, and Avatar Press with .63%.

DC can thank the Caped Crusader for its strong showing, which closed the gap that typically separates the top two comic publishers.  Led by Batman: The Return #1, which was the bestselling comic in November, DC grabbed eight of the top ten spots, with Batman titles responsible for five of the top ten.  DC’s Brightest Day event continues its strong showing with issues #13 and #14 both in the top ten along with the resurgent Green Lantern title, which is peaking just as excitement starts to grow for the June, 2011 release of the Green Lantern live-action movie.
