Walking Dead executive producer and writer Charles Eglee is talking to FX and Sony about taking a similar role with the Powers series in development for the network, according to New York Magazine’s Vulture blog. The Powers pilot has been in the works for about a year (see “Powers Pilot in the Works”), and Eglee’s interest dates back months, according to the report.
The rest of the Vulture report was devoted to deconstructing a report by Deadline Hollywood that Walking Dead had fired all of its writers at the end of the first season. Vulture’s take, after talking to Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd and producer (and comic creator) Robert Kirkman was that director Frank Darabont and Kirkman plan to run the second season by themselves, after trying it with more input for the first six episodes.
