IDW and Viz, two graphic novel publishers with digital programs at very different stages, have announced expansions of their digital offerings.

IDW is offering a new line of digital graphic novels for the iPad.  The offerings, sold as individual apps for each title, launched with six titles last week:  Darwyn Cooke’s The Hunter and The Outfit, Bloom County Complete Library:  Volume One, Star Trek Movie Adaptation, Tribes:  The Dog Years, and After the Fire (which is direct to digital).

IDW, which has been one of the most aggressive publishers at expanding its digital offerings into new formats, recently began offering comics for the Blackberry (see “IDW Adds Blackberry”).

Viz Media has launched new titles for its iPad app, including Vampire Knight, Ouran High School Host Club, Otomen, and Rurouni Kenshin.  Viz launched its first offerings for the iPad, including its strongest titles, last month (see “Viz Launches iPad App”).
