Mayfair Games plans to release the new Standard Edition version of the Catan Dice Game in April 2011.  This version of the game does not have the embossed leather cup from the Deluxe Edition, and is offered a lower price point.  It is a new version of the original boxed Catan Dice Game, originally released in 2008.

The Catan Dice Game takes the themes of the popular boardgame The Settlers of Catan and combines them with a set-building dice game.  Players use the custom dice to generate the resource combinations required to build the familiar roads, settlements, and cities shown on his own map and scoring sheet.  It is designed for fast play, with games lasting less than half an hour, and can be played with one to four players.

The Standard Edition will include 6 embossed plastic dice with Catan symbols, a pad of double-sided map/scoring sheets with different map layouts on each side.  It is packaged in a small box for easy portability.  The suggested retail price will be $15.00.  The product number is MFG3108.
