In the 1980s, Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone produced a series of interactive novels called “gamebooks,” featuring a system called Fighting Fantasy. The popularity of these books would lead to the release of a role-playing game in 1989. Now, Cubicle 7 Entertainment is producing a new, updated and revised edition which will be called Advanced Fighting Fantasy RPG, scheduled to release in May 2011.

Designed as a fantasy RPG, Advanced Fighting Fantasy uses a streamlined game mechanic. This new edition features revised and re-written rules by Graham Bottley. The main rulebook will be a 200 page black & white softcover book with a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Two supporting books will release concurrently with the main rulebook:

Out of the Pit is a 128-page softcover detailing 250 monsters from the Fighting Fantasy world. This is a reprint of the book originally published in 1985. Written by Steve Jackson, Ian Livingstone, and Marc Gascoigne. Suggested retail price is $24.99.

Titan offers 128 pages of description and background of the fantasy setting for the Fighting Fantasy series. This is a reprint of the book originally published in 1986. Written by Steve Jackson, Ian Livingstone, and Marc Gascoigne. Suggested retail $24.99.
