One of the most interesting new fund-raising initiatives for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund is a Transmetropolitan Art Book that is being offered on Kickstarter.com. Ten years after the release of the final issue of the groundbreaking Transmetropolitan comic by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson, a group of superstar artists are contributing Transmetropolitan-themed art works to special limited edition hardcover volume that will be limited to a few thousand hand-numbered copies and available through Kickstarter.com with all proceeds going to the CBLDF.
Those who pledge $55 dollars or more will receive a hardcover copy of the Transmetropolitan Art Book ($49 cover price). The Kickstarter supporters’ copies will come from the first 2000 number copies. Those who pledge $79 or more will receive a limited slipcase edition of the Transmetropolitan Art Book ($79 cover price) that is limited to 1,000 copies and features a signed bookplate. Multiple copies are available for larger donations at the Kickstarter.com site. Check out the Kickstarter.com site for a complete list of the artists involved and the various donation options that range from $1 to “$255 or more.”
