Mayfair Games has announced the May 19th release of The Stuggle for Catan (MSRP $15.00), a fast-paced card game for 2-4 players, ages 10 and up, set in the world of the ultra-popular board game The Settlers of Catan. Designed by Klaus Teuber, the creator of The Settlers of Catan, which was rated as the bestselling “Hobby Board Game” in the most recent ICv2 Guide (see “Top 10 Board, Card, Family Games, Q3 2010”), The Struggle for Catan, which takes just 45-60 minutes to play, is a great introduction to the world of Catan. Players explore, settle, trade, and build their settlements on the beautiful and ever-changing island of Catan.

 

As is the case in the board game, players in The Stuggle for Catan accumulate Victory Points by managing their resources, improving their cities and building roads. The first player to accumulate 10 Victory Points is the winner.

 

The Stuggle for Catan game box includes 67 resource cards, 42 building cards, 9 road cards, 14 settlement cards/city, 5 knight cards, 9 city improvement cards, 4 building cost cards, 1 destiny card, and full color rules.
