Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) is in talks to join the cast of R.I.P.D., the supernatural action movie based on the Dark Horse comic book series that is set up at Universal. Fresh from his success with the comic book-based Red, Robert Schwentke is set to direct an adaptation of R.I.P.D. based on a script by Phil Hay. 

Variety is reporting that it is likely that Galifianakis will join a cast headed by Ryan Reynolds (see “Ryan Reynolds Gets R.I.P.D.”). Casting announcements like this are an excellent indication that the R.I.P.D. film will be start production in the near future.
