It started with an item in the Parisian newspaper Le Figaro indicating that actress Marion Cotillard will have a major role in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rising. Late today The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Cotillard is indeed in discussions for the second major female role in the film (Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman, see “Hathaway Is Catwoman”).
According to THR, Cotillard is up for the role of Thalia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, who was played by Liam Neeson in Nolan’s Batman Begins.
