Universal joined 20th Century Fox and Summit Entertainment on Wednesday in submitting a claim in bankruptcy court for millions of dollars in unpaid fees ($6.4 million in Universal’s case) from Blockbuster, requesting that it be allowed to reclaim its DVDs if the fees can’t be paid, according to Hollywood Reporter.

 

Blockbuster has announced that its reorganization plan has failed, it has defaulted on its Debtor in Possession financing, and put itself up for auction (see “Blockbuster Reorg Fails”).
