Borders has changed its mind about which of its three distribution centers to close, sparing the LaVergne, Tennessee center and closing the Carlisle, Pennsylvania DC instead, according to the Nashville Business Journal. Borders had announced that it would close the LaVergne DC in January (see “Borders Retains Bankruptcy Counsel”), but now that it knows where its remaining stores will be (see “Borders Files Chapter 11”) has decided that it makes more sense to close Pennsylvania than Tennessee.   One can only image how the employees at the two DCs are taking this.
