The first two game offerings from new Canadian game publisher Tartan Grizzly are Pamplona: Viva San Fermín! and My Precious Present.

Pamplona recreates the famous Encierro or “running of the bulls,” which is the highlight of the week-long Festival of San Fermín in Navarre, Spain. Players take the role of one runner as well as one bull and one steer. In the game, players accumulate victory points by avoiding being trampled, and using their bulls to trample and gore their opponents. Players race through 4 different sectors or tracks and may play different cards that give their runners bravery or their bulls the advantage. The player that survives through all four sectors with the most victory points wins the game.

Originally published by Ghenos Games in Italy, Pamplona is for two to four players, ages eight and up and plays in about 45 minutes. The game will retail for around $39.00.

My Precious Presents, a game designed by game veteran James Ward, is a fast paced game of cutthroat gift exchange. Players begin with smaller gifts and must trade steal or barter their way till they are the first to collect 3 large silver presents. Players may play a wide variety of action cards to take other players’ presents, or reaction cards to protect their own. One hundred twenty cards and 69 foil wrapped presents are included. The game is for two to eight players ages eight and up, and plays in about 25 minutes. The game retails for around $35.

Both games are scheduled to release this year.
