The Hollywood trades are reporting that Bradley Cooper, who is currently starring in Relativity Media’s Limitless, is in early stage negotiations to star in Relativity’s remake of The Crow. Based on a comic book series by James O’Barr, The Crow was made into a cult film hit in 1994 starring Brandon Lee, who was killed in a freak accident during the production of the film in 1993.
Cooper is reportedly eager to play the title character, a rock musician who is murdered when he and his girlfriend are attacked by a gang of thugs. Resurrected by supernatural forces in the form of a crow, the hero of this Goth drama seeks vengeance on his attackers.
Relativity Media recently hired 28 Weeks Later helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to direct its remake of The Crow (see “The Crow Flies Again”), and is eager to get filming underway this fall.
