Comic-based movie projects often take years to get the screen and most never make it out of "development hell."  Back in 2007 ICv2 reported that Ice Cube would star in an adaptation of the BOOM! Studios’ graphic novel 10 by Shannon Eric Denton and Keith Giffen (see “Ice Cube to Star in ‘10’”).  Now nearly four years later, the project has a director, the Australian helmer Peter Cornwall (Ward 13, Conan the Barbarian: The Motion Comic, The Haunting in Connecticut), and is ensconced on a slate of “new” projects from Robert Stein and Michael Helfant’s Troika Pictures.

According to Variety, Ice Cube is “negotiating to star” in the adaptation of the Battle Royale-like saga in which ten unwilling participants are forced to play a deadly game in which only one can survive.
