IDW will launch Duke Nukem: Glorious Bastard, a four-issue comic miniseries based on the long-time videogame character, in July. The series will be written by Tom Waltz with art by Xermanico. In addition to the regular cover, IDW will produce

a variant Duke Nukem Forever concept-art team cover and a foil-stamped, glow-in-the-dark embossed cover by John K Snyder III. 

 

The comics will tie into the international release of Duke Nukem Forever, perhaps the longest-in-development videogame release ever, on June 14th in the U.S. and on June 10th elsewhere.  The game was announced in 1997 (and numerous times thereafter). Gearbox Software acquired the rights to Duke Nukem in 2009. The videogame will be published by 2K Games.

 

Waltz and Xermanico also created a Duke Nukem Forever one-shot comic for an in-pack in the Duke Nukem Forever: Balls of Steel special edition game boxset.
