Kenzer & Company is planning to publish a three-issue Knights of the Dinner Table: Special Edition mini-series which will be distributed exclusively by Diamond Comic Distributors and its sister company Alliance Game Distributors.  Other Kenzer products are distributed by both comic distributors (such as FM International) and game distributors.

When asked why Kenzer & Company was granting this exclusive, Kenzer spokesman Jeff Abar told ICv2 that Diamond and Alliance promised a concerted effort to get additional retailers to carry the Knights of the Dinner Table series.  Abar also told ICv2 that since almost all the retailers who sell KODT are open with either Diamond or Alliance (or both), storeowners should be able to carry the new series without doing a lot of extra work.

The first book in the series will be listed in the December Previews and Alliance's Game Trade Magazine #34 and will ship to retailers in February 2003.  Unlike the typical Knights of the Dinner Table (KODT) issue which runs around 100 pages and includes game reviews and articles as well as the KODT comic strip, the 32-page Diamond-Alliance exclusive will include only the comic strip.  To increase collectibility, each issue of the three-issue mini-series will feature two covers with details concerning the cover artists available in the near future.

Eventually the three-issues will be collected into a trade paperback edition, which is also likely to be a Diamond/Alliance exclusive.
