Konami Digital Entertainment has obtained the exclusive rights from Cryptozoic Entertainment to distribute the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game in Japan.  The World of Warcraft TCG, which is based on the world’s leading subscription MMORPG (Massively Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Game) with more than 12 million members, has spread from the United States and Europe to more than 54 countries worldwide, including Korea and China. 

 

By tapping into the knowledge gained in over a decade of developing card games, Konami, which created the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, will not only sell World of Warcraft cards in Japan, it will also host a variety of activities that are indispensable in the promotion of card games—activities such as ranked matches, tournaments, and selecting the Japanese players who will represent their country in the World of Warcraft TCG World Championships.
