Darren Lempke, the writer of the Jack the Giant Killer movie that is in production with Bryan Singer directing, has been chosen to adapt Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson’s Dark Horse comic book Beasts of Burden.  Shrek director Arthur Adamson is helming the CGI animated adaptation of Dorkin and Thompson’s tale of a gang of pets who team up in order to keep their owners and the town of Burden Hill safe from supernatural predators (see “Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson’s Beasts of Burden”).

 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Beasts of Burden project will reunite Lempke with Dark Horse’s Keith Goldberg, who is producing.  While at New Line Goldberg was instrumental in the studio picking up Lempke's script for Jack the Giant Killer.
