Former Marvel editor and creator John Barber has joined IDW Publishing as a senior editor. Barber will handle the company’s Hasbro licensed titles and other projects. Barber has written Transformers for IDW; he’ll continue to write for the company. Barber was an editor and writer at Marvel for six years, during which he edited the Ultimate line, Dark Tower, and other high profile series. 

IDW has promoted Tom Waltz to senior staff writer in addition to his position as editor; he’ll write the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and other titles. 

IDW has promoted Alonzo Smith to assistant editor in its book department, reflecting an expansion of that department.
