Comic-Con News—At the Warner Animation Panel on Sunday DC announced three 2012 direct-to-DVD animated features produced in conjunction with Warner Premiere. The first feature will be Justice League: Doom, an adaptation of Mark Waid’s legendary JLA saga, “Tower of Babel.”
That will be followed by Superman vs. The Elite, which will be based at least in part on Joe Kelly’s politically-charged “What’s So Funny about Truth, Justice, and the American Way?”
But evidently pleased with the way that the adaptation of Miller and Mazzuchelli’s Batman: Year One turned out, and cognizant of how well the Batman-themed animated films have done over the years, DC has decided to create a feature-length animated version Miller’s epic saga of an aging Batman, The Dark Knight Returns.
