Veteran character actor Laurence Fishburne, who left the long-running CBS series CSI in May, will play hard-charging Daily Planet editor Perry White in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel.  John Hamilton played the character on the Adventures of Superman TV series, while Jackie Cooper was Perry White in the Christopher Reeve movies, and Frank Langella channeled Walter Burns from The Front Page in Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns.  Snyder’s film’s debut was recently postponed from December of 2012 to June 14th, 2013 (see “The Man of Steel Movie Delayed”).

Fishburne joins a cast that includes Henry Cavil as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Jonathan and Martha Kent, and Russell Crowe and Julia Ormond as Superman’s Kryptonian parents (see “Julia Ormond to Play Supes’ Mom”).
