Mayfair Games has announced plans to release a second set of expansion maps for the popular rail game Steam in January, 2012.  The Steam Map Expansion #2 will include three new map boards: California 2090, Great Britain, and China.

 

The set includes one large four-panel mapboard featuring the island of Great Britain.  This scenario is designed for three or four players, and explores the progression from canals to railways in England.

 

Two smaller two-panel mapboards are also included.  The first is a futuristic scenario set in California in the year 2090.  Designed for three players, this scenario requires players to prepare for a major disaster.  The second smaller board is China, designed for two to four players.

 

In addition to the boards, the Steam Map Expansion #2 will include a sheet of tiles and rules for playing the new scenarios.  This expansion set was designed by Morgan Dontanville.  This product requires a copy of the base Steam game to play, and has a suggested retail price of $24.00.
