Ken Warkentin of Comic Addicts in Winnipeg, Manitoba saw the recent announcement that Gemstone would be publishing Disney comics (see 'Interview with Steve Geppi on Gemstone Disney Comics--Part 1' and 'Interview with Steve Geppi on Gemstone Disney Comics--Part 2') and liked the idea, but not the price:

On those prestige books, how many pages will they be, and what's the cover price going to be?  They will be 64 pages, and we are going to keep the price the same as it was four years ago with Gladstone, $6.95.

Kudos to Steve Geppi for getting the license to revive and produce Disney comics once again.

Boos to Steve Geppi for (initially) keeping the price at $6.95.  I had collectors drop this title four years ago when the price went this high.  Young kids (or their parents) won't spend that much on a comic book, whether the page count and the content justify it or not.

When the newer, shorter, cheaper titles come out, I will support them.  Until that time, good luck to you Steve...
