Bernd Brunnhofer’s award-winning game Stone Age will see its first expansion in the English language release of Stone Age: Style is the Goal. This expansion adds the idea of adornment to the popular game of trading and civilization building.
Style is the Goal adds the ability for players to trade their raw material resources for “decorations.” And to support this new form of commerce, a new workplace is added to the village, along with new game cards, new huts, extra gold tokens and perhaps the most significant addition: rules to add a fifth player to the game.
The English language version of Stone Age: Style is the Goal is slated for February and will retail for around $29.95.
Caveman – the Quest for Fire is a new card game that will employ the card “drafting” mechanic; much like the bestselling game 7 Wonders.
In Caveman– the Quest for Fire, as tribal leaders players must challenge each other for the right and opportunity to hunt dinosaurs, gather more tribe members and utilize 21 different prehistoric inventions that are best suited to their tribes’ unique strengths and abilities. Resource management and direct competition against rival tribes provide many opportunities for deep strategy as players race for their tribe to be the first to make fire, win the game and thus change the world.
Caveman – the Quest for Fire is for two to five players, ages 13 and up and will play in around 30 to 45 minutes. The game hits shelves in March.
