ADV Films has announced that the highly awaited 'mecha' series RahXephon will debut on DVD in the U.S. on March 25.  Created and directed by anime veteran Yutaka Izubuchi (Gasaraki, Gundam), RahXephon was a big hit in Japan, and its brand of psychological science fiction/robot combat a la Evangelion should also do well here in the States.  In the bleak world of RahXephon, the entire planet is waging a long war against an alien invader, but in the city of Tokyo, which has been cut off from the outside world, life goes on as if nothing has happened.  But when a young man unwittingly escapes from the city he finds that he may hold the future of mankind in his hands, if he can control the ultimate war machine known as RahXephon.  The first DVD in the series, RahXephon-Orchestration 1: Threshold contains the first five episodes of the 26-part series in both English and Japanese language versions and has a MSRP of $29.98.
