Marvel has launched a major print-with-digital couponing program in conjunction with the premiere of Avengers Vs. X-Men.  The program offers a coupon for $5.00 off any Marvel purchase at a participating comic store with purchase of select Avengers or X-Men comics on the Marvel Comics digital app between March 25 and March 31. The coupon (one per user) can be redeemed until May 1st. 

Marvel SVP Sales David Gabriel tied the new program to a smaller couponing program that Marvel ran in January (see “Marvel Offers Store Coupons”). “We received tremendous feedback from retailers and consumers, which let us know this is a program that really drives new customers into comic stores.”

Gabriel told ICv2 in February that 30% of the coupons Marvel sent out in the January program were downloaded, and 30% of downloaded coupons were redeemed (see “Interview with Marvel's David Gabriel--Part 3”), which he described as “a fairly high redemption and conversion rate.”

Fans will be offered a link to help them find the nearest participating store(s) in the e-mail with their coupons.
