Eddie Izzard has been cast to play Grandpa and will produce Mockingbird Lane (see "'Munsters' Reboot Renamed"), the new reboot of The Munsters, according to Deadline.  Izzard has done a fair amount of television, including United States of Tara and The Riches.

Asked about the tone of the pilot, Izzard, the first person cast for the series, told Vulture "It's a drama.  It's not a comedy, and so you're just going to have to wait and see what we do with it... I think it’s going to be way darker than people expect." 

The pilot will be exec produced and directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men), and written and exec produced by Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies, see "Bryan Singer on 'The Munsters'").
