At the international MIPTV conference in France A Squared Entertainment announced a joint venture with the Indian powerhouse Tata Elxsi.  The new entity, A Squared Elxsi Entertainment (A2E2), is developing a mix of animated and live-action multi-platform programming based on the new Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 comic book series, which debuted from Archie Comics last week.  The series will feature Lee appearing alongside his new group of extraterrestrial superheroes.

 

A2E2 is developing “transmedia content” for a number of the new Lee characters including Laser Lord, Strongarm, and High Rise.  A2E2 is producing both original animated and live-action programming as well as launching a worldwide licensing program for the new characters.  No ETA yet for any animated or hybrid programming.
