Top Shelf Productions is readying the June release of the final chapter of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century trilogy by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill.  The 80-page, full color graphic novel, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century “2009” is age-rated “16+” and will have a cover price of $9.95.  The Century saga is one of the most elaborate and compelling of the LOEG narratives.  The first portion was set in 1910, while the second volume, 1969, took place in the swinging London of the 1960s.

In the apocalyptic 2009 installment, the magical child, whose existence was foretold for a hundred years, has been born and now he can claim his dreadful heritage.  At the same time a Sikh terrorist has gained control of a nuclear submarine and is threatening to wage a holy war against Islam.  Meanwhile a patient in a London mental asylum insists that she has the answers to all these problems.

Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen remains a very popular property in both the direct and bookstore markets.  It ranked as the #4 “Genre Graphic Novel Property” in 2011 according to ICv2’s most recent survey (see "Top 10 Genre Properties—2011").
