DC Comics has ended its relationship with Chris Roberson immediately, rather than at the end of his planned run on Fairest, according to Tweets last Friday by Roberson. "Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I won't be writing a Fairest arc after all, Roberson Tweeted. "It was decided my services were no longer required."
The sequence of events started when Roberson used Twitter to announce last week that he was leaving DC over the company's treatments of other creators, alluding to early creators and Before Watchmen (see "Chris Roberson Leaves DC"). But he indicated that he planned to complete his work on Fairest. DC apparently had other ideas and made its move less than 48 hours later. Roberson indicated that he'd been paid for the work he'd turned in to DC to date.
