Variety is reporting that the Disney Studio has acquired the rights to Piers Anthony's fantasy novel, On a Pale Horse, with actor Jamie Foxx set to star in the film and produce along with Top Cow Productions.  Top Cow's main man in Hollywood, Spike Seldin, put the deal together and sold it to Disney.  The studio was eager to take on the project, which if successful, could establish a franchise that could easily be expanded by adapting subsequent novels in the Anthony fantasy series.  Screenwriter Paul Guay (Liar Liar) is providing the screenplay for On a Pale Horse, which concerns a suicidal man who accidentally kills the 'Grim Reaper,' and is then forced to take his place.

Under the guidance of Seldin, Top Cow is increasingly active in Hollywood circles with a remake of The A-Team at Fox, an adaptation of Fathom (see 'Scribe Set For Live Action Fathom') for James Cameron, Inferno at Warner Bros., and The Cleaner at MGM along with Rising Star.  Top Cow is reportedly planning a comic adaptation of On a Pale Horse, though publication will probably be tied to the eventual release of the film.
