Dark Horse Comics has signed an agreement with film director Tim Burton to create a program of toys and other merchandise based on original characters created by Burton.  Burton who is best known as the director of films such as Batman, and Edward Scissorhands, is also an accomplished writer and artist.  The Dark Horse product line will be based on Burton's book--The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories.  The book includes characters with descriptive names like Stain Boy, Toxic Boy, Staring Girl, and Mummy Boy, and a host of others that will be the basis for the Dark Horse products.

Dark Horse products based on characters from The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories should be in stores in the autumn of 2003.  Stay tuned for product details as they become available.
