Disney has revealed the first poster for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, a stop-motion animated feature film about a boy named Victor who manages to bring his beloved dog back to life with a little creative Frankenstein-like surgery to give his pet a new “leash” on life.  Burton's Frankenweenie will debut nationwide on October 5th, 2012.

Frankenweenie is a remake of sorts of the 30-minute live-action short that Burton directed for Disney back in 1984.  The 2012 remake will be produced using stop-motion animation and will be feature length. It is sure to attract those who enjoy Burton’s Gothic flair for the macabre.

Frankenweenie, which is being shot in black-and-white, will be the first B&W film ever (and the first stop-motion film ever) to be released in IMAX 3-D.
