NECA subsidiaries MFV Studios and WizKids Games are collaborating to bring back Mage Knight as both an online/mobile game and a Collectible Miniatures Game.  A Kickstarter project for the online/mobile game, Mage Knight Revenge, has been initiated with a July 31 end date and a $700,000 goal.
Mage Knight Starters and Boosters are offered as rewards (beginning at the $170 level) for contributing to the development of the online/mobile game.  The figures will be produced from the digital sculpts made for the game and will include six figures in the Starters (two factions of three each that can form the core of a force) and ten figures in the boosters that will round out the factions.
The Mage Knight figures for the Kickstarter will be limited editions with unique stats.  They’ll have swappable dials so they’re playable either according to HeroClix modern or Classic Mage Knight rules.  Based on the number of backers for each level, there will be 3,130 Starters and 6,260 Boosters produced for the Kickstarter.
WizKids has also committed that it will bring back the original Mage Knight CMG based on response to the Kickstarter project. Mage Knight Rebellion was initially introduced as WizKids’ first game in 2000 (see "December Product of the Month").  WizKids has previously revived the property as a board game (see "'Mage Knight' Is Back"), which hit #4 in ICv2’s Top 10 Hobby Channel Board Games in Q4 2011 (see "Top 10 Board Games—Q4 2011").
MFV Studios, which is developing the online/mobile game, was formed by the merger of Icarus Studios and Zabu Studios (see "Icarus Studios & Zabu Studios Merge").
