The Cartoon Network has announced some fairly major changes  to its two primary anime programming blocks, Toonami and Adult Swim.  In March the daily Toonami block goes back from three hours to two hours.  Last year the Cartoon Network, at the request of sister company Kids WB, lopped off the first hour of the daily Toonami block, and is about to do the same thing again.  In another somewhat surprising move, the network has shifted Yu-Yu Hakusho from its spot in the Adult Swim rotation to the daily Toonami block.  Yu-Yu should be perfect for Toonami's older viewers, since the series does a good job of conjuring up teenage angst, but the swearing and the violence in Yu-Yu are definitely stronger than anything we've seen on Toonami before.

With the departure of Yu-Yu Hakusho from the Adult Swim, Rumiko Takahashi's Inu Yasha returns.  Starting March 10, Inu Yasha will lead off the anime portion of Adult Swim at 12 AM (ET & PT) followed by Cowboy Bebop at 12:30 AM, Reign the Conqueror at 1:00 AM and new episodes of Lupin III at 1:30 AM.  Under the current schedule the popular Trigun anime won't join the Adult Swim lineup until April.
