WizKids has announced the May release of Crimsons Skies, a new collectible miniatures game based on the FASA property. Crimson Skies is significantly different from the other WizKids CMGs, both in game mechanics and in the way the game is packaged. For starters, It's actually two games -- Air Action, a game of aerial combat; and Aces, a ground combat game fought with guns, knives, and grenades.
For Air Action, the planes will be sold in squadron packs, each of which will contain four non-randomly packed planes from the same faction. Pilots will be sold in Ace packs, which will include two pilot figures for the Aces game along with their planes for the Air Action game. The Crimson Skies Rules Pack will contain rules and tokens, tiles, map sheets, and dice, all of which are also necessary to play the game.
