Polish Game publisher Portal has announced that it will unveil Winter, an expansion for the 51st State card game designed by Ignacy Trzewiczek (Witchcraft, Stronghold) at the Essen Spiel 2012.
The Winter Expansion introduces new rules, a new faction (Texas), and 54 new cards. This expansion plays to the strengths of participants who favor sustainable development over unpredictable aggression, with the "Winter" version of the game lasting exactly six rounds of winter time. According to the publisher, Winter is the perfect choice for strategy-oriented gamers.

Winter is an expansion for the post-apocalyptic, multi-player card game 51st State that released here in the U.S. by Toy Vault in 2011 (see "'51st State' Comes to the U.S."). No word yet on when Winter will be released here in North America.
