Gen Con News: At Gen Con Danny Satyapan, Director of Card Games at Bandai America explained the pre-order promotion that Bandai is offering for the October release of The Original Series Expansion for the Star Trek Deck-Building Game: "To celebrate the launch, we’ve got an exclusive five-card pre-order promotion.  Four of those cards are rendered artwork of the classic characters Spock, Kirk, Bones and Chekov all of those special characters.  The rendered artwork is different than the artwork from the game itself, and the Tribbles card is the special fifth card as well."

 

Satyapan explained that retailers "will get a pack of the five promo cards with each copy they order.  So the more copies they order, the more packs they have to give away."

 

About a month after the launch of The Original Series expansion, Bandai is planning on creating an OP-like event for Star Trek Deck-Building Game players that will provide an opportunity to get a Tribbles card for those who missed out on the early pre-order promotion.  Satyapan explained: "Kind of like an OP event.  Come and play and we’re going to theme it with Tribbles and anybody who wins, or however the store manager wants to structure it, will be able to get a Tribbles card."
